In a video gone viral, a Chimp who escaped from a zoo in Ukraine can be seen coming back to the enclosure on a bicycle, wearing a raincoat after catching cold. While the situation in Ukraine continues to be heartbreaking, the recent footage going viral was heartwarming, to say the least. Reportedly, the chimp returned back to its keeper after it started raining and it caught cold.
The incident was brought to light by a journalist Hanna Liubakova, who shared the video of Chichi the chimp having the time of its life, roaming the empty streets of Kharkiv. The video, which was shared earlier on September 6, has since been viewed over 4.5 million times on Twitter.
“#Ukraine In Kharkiv, a chimpanzee escaped from a zoo. It was walking around the city while zoo employees tried to convince it to return. Suddenly it started to rain, and the ape ran to a zoo employee for a jacket and then agreed to return to the zoo,” read the caption of the video shared by Hanna.
Chichi was one of the hundreds of lucky animals that were evacuated safely from the zoo after Russia initiated its unprovoked invasion against Ukraine. Unfortunately, over 100 animals were killed due to Russian shelling before the evacuation could be completed.
Ever since Russia initiated its invasion against Ukraine, heartbreaking visuals and reports of Ukrainian men, women & children, have left scars on the conscience of the entire global consensus. Moreover, reports have also emerged regarding animals being killed due to Russian shelling.

Amid the doom and gloom, a heartbreaking development recently unfolded in Ukraine’s Kharkiv. In Kharkiv, a chimpanzee from a zoo somehow managed to escape, and was found wandering out and about on the empty streets of the city.
According to reports, Chichi the chimpanzee was evacuated from her original home in Feldman Ecopark, which was on the frontlines of Kharkiv outskirts. The chimpanzee was evacuated to the Kharkiv city zoo, a park located in the central location of Kharkiv, which is less vulnerable to shelling.

It was walking around the city while zoo employees tried to convince it to return. Suddenly it started to rain, and the ape ran to a zoo employee for a jacket and then agreed to return to the zoo,” the caption of the video read.

In the video, which has been viewed over 4 million times, Chichi can be seen walking on all fours in a park before a zoo staffer sits with it and appeases Chichi to come back to the Zoo. The video then cuts to Chichi running at the zoo staffer as she brings out her yellow jacket. The chimp the meticulously turns around and slips its one hand into the jacket. The staffer gets help of another person to dress Chichi in the yellow jacket properly.
The video ends on a heartwarming note where three people can be seen pushing a bicycle and Chichi can be seen looking around, sitting majestically on the bicycle.

How good were the staff. No force, no tranquilizers or traps. A coat, a hug & a bike.👏👏👏
I love the way he trusted her to protect him from rain. They didn't use a weapon or hunted him so that he would be freaked out. Wonderful. 🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻
